This is the first element in one of Jan Stawasz's designs, and it was not until the final blocking out that I noticed that one of the clovers of a middle motif had only two rings! I left it sitting there for a couple of days, but each time I looked at it, all I could see was that two-ring clover, and I decided that I just couldn't proceed adding rows to the project, as it would continue to haunt me, and I would not be pleased with the finished result.
So I have begun the element again, carefully checking that each clover has three rings! I have decided to back the defective piece with red velvet, and investigate the best way of making a tote bag out of it, preferably covering it with acetate or
similar protective covering.

I am sorry for your troubles but it really is beautiful work.
What a major bummer with the mistake! Yes, sometimes those things can throw the whole rest of the design off! I like your idea of using this piece for a tote bag decoration. It will look beautiful, I'm sure! :)

You sound like me...LOL! Why is it that we are the only one's who care about and "see" our tatting flaws? What you have accomplished thus far is gorgeous! ...and a what a special tote it will make.
Thanks everybody. I felt wretched about it for a while, but it is remarkable how quickly I am getting back to where I was. The next element is three rows of split rings!
I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I know the feeling because it has happened to me too. It was so frustrating when it happened and I can't think of anything else until I started on making another one. The faulty one is gone to I-dont-know-where.
